Ever since global ride-hailing service, Uber began operations in Ghana somewhere in June 2016, the service has been more than useful in a lot of ways.. don’t let me get started on its numerous advantages and why you need to hail an Uber.

But like every competitive business arena, nothing gains major strides and goes unnoticed.

In what seems to be the latest trend in Ghana, almost every quarter there seem to be a new ‘Uber killer‘ arriving in town, most of which seek to exploit areas in which Uber is perceived to be lacking, promising competitive advantages such as

  • Lower fares,
  • Better driver rates/commissions,
  • No price surges
  • Good Discounts/commissions/points
  • and many many other perks.

But I bet you’d agree with me that there’s a slight edge to being first to market, and given Uber’s popularity, rapid growth and business model, it is clearly the market leader and forerunner in the online transportation space.

In this post, however, I bring you 6 other hard competing services, giving Uber a run for its money.
